MedLife is a boutique Life Insurance practice dedicated to providing tailored personal insurance solutions for doctors and other medical professionals.
MedLife’s principal adviser is Ray Bostelman. Ray has over 13 years' experience in advising doctors and other medical professionals. A highly-knowledgable personal insurance specialist, Ray is dedicated to providing exceptional advice and service levels. He also has additional training in accounting and finance, and understands the complexities of medical services trusts and SMSFs.
Ray is married to Emma, and they have 2 young children, Joshua and Jessica. A keen sportsman with a love of the outdoors, Ray combines this by participating in several multi-sport team adventure races each year.

the process
Our advice process includes the following steps:
- Gather all of your personal information to make an assessment on the type and level of cover that you require
- Review your financial structures and accounts, if appropriate, to maximise your Income Protection benefit
- Liaise with your other advisers (such as accountants and solicitors) to ensure that all your advice is aligned
- For pre-existing medical conditions, we conduct a comprehensive underwriting review to get you the best possible terms
- Research the market to find the best policy features for medical professionals, at a reasonable premium cost
- Present a tailored initial proposal for discussion and review
- Carefully structure the ownership of your policies to maximise tax effectiveness and reflect your individual needs
- Formalise our written advice, and personally complete the insurance application forms with you
- Carefully manage your application through the underwriting process and handle all of the paperwork
- Check through your issued policy schedules and produce a personalised summary for your records
- Conduct a review at least annually to make sure that your cover remains appropriate with your changing needs
- MedLife is the first point of contact for any claims, and we personally manage all claims through to conclusion
